Key Capabilities of the Clinical Portal & Data Exchange Engine
Most important, this solution can be used as a means to provide clinicians with a very powerful “reason” to use the computer - speeding physician adoption rates of other systems/processes being implemented.
Flexible Clinical PortalThis web-based viewer enables users to access patient-centric clinical data, the healthcare organization’s intranet, and other qualified sources on the Web. It comes equipped with content management and administration features that allow organizations to adapt their users’ home pages to best fit their role. In addition, electronic lab ordering and ePrescribing applications are optionally available. Proven Data Exchange EngineThe solution has key capabilities your HIE needs to ensure secure sharing of patient information in the community. The foundation for the collection, integration, aggregation and distribution are:
In addition, an edge server is used to acquire patient data, transform it and preserve it behind the contributing organization’s firewalls. The back-office functions enable aggregation of data from the “edge”, the formatting of content, and delivery of data to the Clinical Portal or any other application that supports Web services. Hybrid - Federated ArchitectureUsing a hybrid-federated architecture, customers can ensure that the originating stakeholder facility providing the clinical data always "owns" the data. This design enables the acquisition and storage of data in permanent data stores. These databases exist outside the core HIS systems. In cases where a request to a core system is required, we are able to accommodate this approach using industry standard messaging. The hybrid-federated model leverages the speed and consistency of a known data store, but does not preclude the direct query of key systems, when necessary.
