Centergy HIE Solutions

Enterprise Portal

When you are launching a Health Information Exchange, speed matters. Quickly generating positive outcomes in patient care delivery and operating efficiency, while driving wide-scale adoption, are just some of the many challenges you face. MedPlus’ Centergy™ suite of integrated solutions is uniquely positioned to help Federal, State and community HIE leaders address these challenges by providing a powerful technology foundation for seamlessly connecting healthcare professionals across disparate systems and data sources.

Centergy’s proven Clinical Portal and Data Exchange Services solutions enable quick, easy, seamless access to vital patient information from multiple systems and sources – creating a comprehensive virtual Electronic Health Record that can be viewed through a single login – anytime, anywhere. Centergy solutions enable each stakeholder group in your healthcare community – hospitals, providers, payers and patients – to quickly achieve improved outcomes with less intensive resource investments. Centergy also uses an open architecture, standards-based infrastructure and a federated data model enabling all stakeholders to retain control of their data.

With MedPlus, customers benefit from universal connectivity and exchange across all healthcare settings (acute, ambulatory and community); an open architecture/standards-based infrastructure; and the confidence that comes from working with a team of proven professionals committed to delivering executional excellence.

  • Electronic delivery of test results that speeds result delivery and saves administrative costs in the laboratory.
  • Patient-centric data exchange among hospital EDs that provides better patient assessments and prevents unnecessary testing.
  • ePrescribing that saves physicians time, facilitates formulary management and enables a broader view of medication history for patient safety.
  • Ease of review and analysis of data for quality efforts and clinical studies.
  • Electronic receipt of laboratory orders that facilitates clean requisitions and complete billing data.
Most important, this solution can be used as a means to provide clinicians with a very powerful “reason” to use the computer - speeding physician adoption rates of other systems/processes being implemented.

Flexible Clinical Portal

This web-based viewer enables users to access patient-centric clinical data, the healthcare organization’s intranet, and other qualified sources on the Web. It comes equipped with content management and administration features that allow organizations to adapt their users’ home pages to best fit their role. In addition, electronic lab ordering and ePrescribing applications are optionally available.

Proven Data Exchange Engine

The solution has key capabilities your HIE needs to ensure secure sharing of patient information in the community.  The foundation for the collection, integration, aggregation and distribution are:
  • Full-function integration engine,
  • Hybrid-Federated Architecture
  • enterprise master person index, and
  • record locator service form the foundation for the collection, integration, aggregation,
In addition, an edge server is used to acquire patient data, transform it and preserve it behind the contributing organization’s firewalls. The back-office functions enable aggregation of data from the “edge”, the formatting of content, and delivery of data to the Clinical Portal or any other application that supports Web services.

Hybrid - Federated Architecture

Using a hybrid-federated architecture, customers can ensure that the originating stakeholder facility providing the clinical data always "owns" the data. This design enables the acquisition and storage of data in permanent data stores. These databases exist outside the core HIS systems.  In cases where a request to a core system is required, we are able to accommodate this approach using industry standard messaging. The hybrid-federated model leverages the speed and consistency of a known data store, but does not preclude the direct query of key systems, when necessary.
