Steve McDonald

Vice President, Sales - Hospital & HIE Technology Solutions

Since joining MedPlus in early 2009 as VP of Sales for Hospitals and HIEs, McDonald is working to spread the MedPlus suite of interoperable HIT solutions to the front lines of America’s drive toward reforming the nation’s healthcare system.

McDonald comes to MedPlus with a 20 year business development career in the healthcare industry. His past career roles have spanned the areas of executive management, sales leadership and business operations. McDonald brings with him a wealth of experience in managing all aspects of enterprise-wide software sales and consulting services to complex healthcare organizations of all sizes.

Most recently, McDonald served as VP of Consulting Services at Beacon Partners, Inc., assisting clients in optimizing software so as to leverage its power for maximum operational, clinical and financial benefit. In addition, he served as VP of Sales, North Atlantic Region for the Cerner Corporation. During 11 years with MEDITECH, McDonald accumulated extensive knowledge in clinical transformation, workflow redesign, revenue cycle operations and healthcare IT strategies. He holds a BS of Science in Finance in the Boston College Honors Program and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
