Philip S. Present II
Chief Operating Officer
After a long and impressive career as a partner with KPMG, Philip S. Present II joined MedPlus, Inc., in April 1995, and has served as Chief Operating Officer for the last 13 years. In this role, Present has principal responsibility over many of the functional areas of the company, including sales, marketing, business development, professional services and corporate functions.Present spent more than two decades with KPMG, serving as Partner-In-Charge of the Information, Communication and Entertainment Practice for the Ohio Valley and Southeast regions of the United States. In that role, Present specialized in dealing with large software and manufacturing firms and professional sports franchises. Present also provided litigation support for clients, including testifying before the World Court in the Hague on behalf of General Electric Aircraft Group against the Republic of Iran.
In addition to his work with such high profile clients, Present also was responsible for major manufacturing companies including Huffy Bicycles and the Baldwin Piano and Organ Company, as well as the Cincinnati Bengals and Cincinnati Reds sports franchises. Equally important to Present has been his work volunteering with not-for-profit organizations in a variety of capacities.
Over the course of his business career, Present served as a member of the Business Advisory Council for his alma mater, Miami University, as the President of the Boy Scout Council of Cincinnati, as Treasurer of the high technology incubator organization BioStart and as President of the Cincinnati Foreign Trade Zone. But it was his work as President of the Cerebral Palsy Services Center and Chairman of the Board for the Multiple Sclerosis Society in Cincinnati that most closely aligned his history of public work with the philosophy and long-range goals of MedPlus.
A proud graduate of Miami University in Ohio, Present holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and an MBA in Management from the institution.
