Joseph Casper

Vice President, Global Business Development

Before taking on the position of Vice President of Business Development at MedPlus, Joseph Casper was President Software Products and Chief Technical Officer for First Consulting Group.  Mr. Casper is a past President FCG Doghouse Technology where he led the Software Development and Systems Integration groups and oversaw more than $100 million in combined Innovative Technology development. He has more than 25 years of experience in the field of software development, network infrastructure and wireless communications, spending 15 of those years focusing exclusively in Health Care and Life Sciences.

Mr. Casper has overseen and delivered in excess of $250 million in project engagements to organizations including Kaiser Permanente, Blue Cross, Johnson & Johnson, Cedars Sinai and countless others healthcare providers. Prior to joining FCG, he held the position of Director with Deloitte & Touché Management Consulting.

Mr. Casper has testified before the President’s Information Technology Advisory Committee and directly advised both the Secretary of HHS (Department of Health and Human Services) and the CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) on healthcare information exchange. He is recognized as an expert in Wireless Communications and has served as an expert witness in that field. He has assisted organizations including the University of Washington, Turner Broadcasting System and Paramount Studios on technology strategy matters.

Mr. Casper is a lifetime member of the University of Washington President’s Club. He has previously served as the Chairman of the Leukemia Society North West Chapter. He has been published in The Journal of the American Medical Association, HIMSS, Modern Healthcare and numerous trade journals.
