Integration Engineer (ChartMaxx PSG)

 

Job Summary

Develop and support integration solutions between hospital clinical, financial, and administrative systems and the ChartMaxx product.  This includes working through the full development life cycle including analysis, specification, design, development, testing, implementation, and support. Must be able to learn technologies and business issues/resolutions quickly, make technical and business recommendations that fit customer needs, and work to deliver and support the appropriate solutions in a timely, professional manner.  Candidate must be able to work well in small project teams and in cross-organizational project teams.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Design, code, enhance, and maintain integration solutions using combination of proprietary tools and integration engine/toolset technologies.   
  • Work extensively with customers, partners, and associates to gather specifications for integration of ChartMaxx to various systems.  
  • Develop comprehensive functional and technical specifications for customer delivery.
  • Develop, execute, and document development efforts and test plans.
  • Support of production interfaces/integrations.
  • Monitor and recommend architectural requirements of integration tools and application technologies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High energy level, balanced sense of urgency, creativity, adaptability, decisiveness, and ability to work well under pressure with limited oversight.
  • Must have an understanding of application development methodology, knowledge of a multi-tier development environment, and relational database structure and theory.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical staff, as well as internal and external customers and peers.
  • Ability to interface well with users, technical staff and management at all levels within MedPlus and external organizations.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and desire for learning new technologies.
  • Demonstrated professional customer service abilities/skills.
  • Healthcare integration experience desired, but not absolutely necessary.
  • Experience with Client/Server architecture a plus.
  • Experience with web technologies (single sign-on, XML, etc.) a plus.
  • Experience with the SeeBeyond DataGate and/or e*Gate middleware technology preferred. Other middleware applications experience also a plus.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent on-the-job experience is preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years applicable work experience (experience with equivalent products may be considered).
  • HL7, XML, X12
  • TCP/IP, FTP, HTTP(S)
  • Object Oriented methodologies
  • Perl, Scheme/Monk, Visual Basic (NET or COM)
  • Oracle, SQLPlus, PL/SQL, MySQL
  • Windows NT/2000/XP/2003, Unix and Unix scripting
  • Document Management and/or Imaging tools
  • SeeBeyond DataGate and/or e*Gate.
