Senior Software Engineer - ChartMaxx

Job Summary:

This highly technical position has responsibilities for the design, development, and maintenance of server-side components of ChartMaxx, a large multi-tier client-server; enterprise-wide clinical records application. This position requires an innovative and creative individual with the willingness and capability to learn new technologies in a fast-paced environment. Must be highly motivated and capable of working equally well in individual and team roles.

Principal Responsibilities:

Analyze requirements, and produce well-documented designs for new features/enhancements.
Implement, unit-test, and debug portions of the product.
Conduct design reviews and code reviews.
Provide technical leadership to small ad-hoc teams of developers to complete implementation and unit-testing.
Provide technical assistance and feasibility checks during software requirements specifications.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Expertise in large-scale C/C++ development projects.
Excellent understanding of software development processes and lifecycles.
Ability to understand the overall product while focusing on specific details.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
Ability to work well with others at all levels-peers, intra-department, and customers.
Adherence to privacy rules and standards, especially as related to working with medical data.

Qualifications:

Minimum seven (7) years experience in a C/C++ development environment (HP-UX, AIX, or Linux a plus).
Minimum three (3) years experience on large client-server or distributed application.
Understanding of relational databases and SQL queries.
Familiarity with any of the following is a plus: Java, J2EE and Unix Shell scripting.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
