Six Sigma Black Belt

Reports to:

Master Black Belt/ COO

Job Summary:

A project leader who leads process improvement teams (and subsequently process design teams) and rigorously apply the Six Sigma Process improvement and design methodologies to achieve business results.

Responsibilities:

Apply structured problem-solving and process analysis skills and experience
Use a systematic, disciplined and data based process that gets to root cause to solve problems
Work closely with BU leadership to identify and drive Six Sigma projects and business results
Work effectively across departments in a matrix environment
Manage multiple projects under time constraints
Providetraining tonew waves of Green Belts
Coach Green Belts and Business Leaders in Six Sigma Tools and Application
Understand and apply the site Safety, Environmental Policy, Safety Management System and relevant legal safety & Environmental requirements when applicable
Other duties as assigned in the normal course of business

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Structured problem-solving and process analysis skills and experience:

uses a systematic, disciplined and data-based process that gets to root cause to solve problems (not firefighting),
has analyzed and improved processes,
has experience with TQM tools and methods.

Ability to work closely with the MedPlus senior leadership team to drive Six Sigma projects and business results.
Enjoys working in a team environment.
Ability to work cross-functionally in a matrix environment.
Ability to work on multiple projects under time constraints.
Ability to coach others including business leaders in Six Sigma tools application.
Proactive and Self-directed.
Ability to communicate and work at all levels in the organization.
Exhibits strong leadership skills and desires to take higher responsibility positions in the future.
Quantitative Data Analysis aptitude: enjoys and is skilled at working with numeric data, can synthesize quantitative data to draw business conclusions.
Proficiency with key PC software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Process Mapping, Access).
Ability to leverage technology

Minimum Requirements:

Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred
Bachelor degree and 5-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor of Science degree or MBA desired.
Two years demonstrated Project Management or equivalent experience
Proficiency with key PC software including but not limited to Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Process Mapping, Access
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to do light travel

Other Requirements:

Knowledge of CMMI preferred
Knowledge of Balanced Score card approach preferred
PMP Certification/ training desired
