Job Summary:
Looking for a motivated and product-oriented individual to become part of the Physician Portal development team. The Portal provides physicians and other medical personnel access to patient information via the web. As a key member of the team this individual will interact with developers, stakeholders, and business analysts to design innovative best-in-class software solutions that are logical, scalable and, most importantly, usable.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Develop and document information structures, navigation structures, and interaction models for assigned projects.
- Develop interface prototypes for usability research.
- Ensure the interface deliverables are appropriate for the intended audience - such as physicians, nurses, etc.
- Consult with Business Analysts and software engineering leads to develop product concepts and requirements. Advocate and maintain user interface consistency across MedPlus products.
- Assist with production of interface deliverables.
- Provide technical input and assistance to management on MedPlus user interface design and testing methods. Influence tactical decisions.
- Agree, monitor and achieve team and individual performance targets.
- Coach and motivate the team, acting as a role model for high performance.
- R & D: Stays abreast of issues related to usability and interaction design. Adheres to and evolves UX design standards.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Exceptional CSS/HTML skills.
- Ability to provide functional code across multiple browser platforms
- Strong interaction and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and writing skills.
- Experienced with both Mac and PC.
- Proven ability to synthesize data into coherent design directions.
- Experience working in an agile development environment or working with cross-functional teams a plus.
Extra Credit for:
- Experience in User Centered Design, Human Factors or related discipline.
- Experience with Java and java script.
- Competence in developing accurate estimates and risk assessments.
- Demonstrated ability to document design decisions.
- Preference for wearing jeans to work every day.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum three (3) years experience planning, designing, and implementing web site structure and navigation layout.
