Director of Technology Services
Job Summary:
Responsible for the overall planning and management of the MedPlus SAAS datacenter and corporate IT services. Includes coordination and planning with the Architecture, Development, Product Management and Professional Services teams. Is responsible for budgeting, coordination with procurement and related financial analysis. Has primary responsibility for system and application security and related coordination and reporting to senior management and Quest Diagnostics.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Direct, implement and manage all aspects of Data Center Operations to provide a resilient, stable, supportable environment for deployment of web application services.
- Design, deploy, and operate production infrastructure.
- Direct management of System and Network Administrators who provide key production support to existing servers and storage architectures.
- Oversee the architecture, implementation, and key support of servers appropriate to the long-term strategic goals.
- Set standards of excellence for all data center operations.
- Manages strategic and budget planning for all customer-related and corporate IT network and server operations
- Creates, manages, and adheres to a corporate wide IT Project Portfolio
- Manages capital expenditure process as it pertains to the procurement of resources for Data Center Operations.
- Coordinates and plans with architecture, development, product management and professional service teams
- Manages security administration and disaster recovery planning and execution
- Establishes and maintains process for ensuring physical security, data security, and guarding against network intrusion
- Coordinates creation and maintenance of Security Policy
- Aids in the adherence to the HIPAA, HITECH and other regulatory requirements
- Coordinates creation and maintenance of Disaster Recovery Plan
- Participates as requested in Business Resumption Planning
- Aids in Security Awareness Training preparation as dictated by the Management Team
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Leadership experience in managing and operating a SAAS product line.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with customers, technical staff, vendors and senior management.
- Must have strong communication and training skills and be able to communicate technical information to non-technical users.
- Knowledge of the techniques and procedures of software and network operations associated with mission critical systems
- Strong customer service skills.
- Proven experience in the hardware marketplace
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from an accredited college or university, or equivalent education/experience in the computer science field
- Minimum 5-7 years in directing data center operations
- Minimum 5-7 years experience in supervision of data center staff
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in the delivery of a SAAS proprietary product
- Proven ability to manage a comprehensive product and infrastructure uptime to 5 9’s quality
- Experience setting up customer-facing network operations center is preferred
- Technical knowledge in areas of System and Network Infrastructure.
- Ability to secure support for technical projects at both a detailed technical and executive/corporate level.
