Business Analyst
Job Summary:
The Business Analyst – Healthcare Information Systems is a dedicated resource to the investigation, analysis, and documentation of the software requirements specification construction and is responsible for all activities related to the development of quality requirement specifications for each product/service line. Business Analysts will focus on coordination and completion of the requirements specifications phase, coordinate meetings and elicit information from development, and contribute during the Business Analysis phase. The completion of the SRS document will be the responsibility of the Business Analyst but will be overseen and managed by the Requirements Manager. Additionally, the Business Analyst will have the necessary time to conduct critical end user interviews, researching customer and market information, obtain information from professional services, working with marketing, sales and other internal organizations.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Function as a liaison and advisor in analysis and evaluation of hospital, physician and lab user needs and serve as the expert resource for assisting end users in identifying business requirements and planning system development needs.
- Coordinate and manage Business Analysis of new requirements and complete all appropriate documentation.
- Coordinate and manage Requirements Analysis of new requirements and complete the construction of Software Requirements Specification document.
- Coordinate meetings and work closely with all internal organizations to elicit information during the Business Analysis and Requirements Analysis phases.
- Work closely with development and all functional departments, to insure accuracy in the information represented in the Business Analysis and Requirements documents.
- Adhere to the processes and methodologies defined for requirements development.
- Work with end users and customers to elicit information.
- Analysis and interpretation of information gathered in order to define the most effective solutions to the requirements being worked on.
- Documentation of all requirements in a clear, concise, and professional manner that can be read by multiple audiences.
- Ability to work on multiple requirement projects simultaneously.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Healthcare IS experience and/or a combination of electronic prescription processing, automated online insurance and payer services, Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, Practice Management systems (PMS), Medical Billing systems, Computer-based Patient Record systems, Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Document Management Systems.
- HIPAA Compliance
- Polished written and communication skills
- Ability to conduct presentations
- Technical understanding of enterprise and web based systems
- Ability to manage multiple activities in parallel
- Demonstrated ability in creative problem solving
- Ability to evaluate and manage system functional details to determine all potential problems are identified and the most effective solution to the problems are identified.
- Demonstrated experience in analysis of business processes, business rules, and process workflow.
- Demonstrated ability to manage relationships and influence results among groups both internal and external.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in related field
- Minimum 1-3 years of demonstrated related work experience.
- Healthcare Information Systems (HIS background is required.
